Blasphemous Rumors

Tilting 19th century skyscrapers jut precariously from the top of the Tower of Babel which stands like a tiered cake of doors and windows studded with vintage smiling black and white lips. The tower is seated in the blue hands from Albrecht Dürer’s drawing, Praying Hands, with a small antique globe set just at the wrists. The whole mount of buildings, tower, and hands rest in an ornately carved alabaster cup. A larger globe hovering in the background is surrounded by horizontal and vertical spinning rings covered in black and white unblinking eyes. One of the rings is set with astrological symbols.
